How to Build a Professional e-Commerce Online Shop Website with Weebly
by divtag - Categories: Tutorials
Building an e-commerce online shop with Weebly isn’t as difficult as you think.
Sure, there are a lot of other website builders out there that can also create e-commerce sites, but the majority of them are not as easy to use as Weebly.
Weebly is literally one of the easiest websites to use in the market – if you’ve tried them before, I don’t have to convince you of how flexible, intuitive and user friendly their user interface is.
But being an entrepreneur, you are probably interested in understanding if it’s the best option available for you. And being entrepreneurs ourselves, that’s a very reasonable question to ask.
[Later in this post below, we’ll show you a quick video demonstration of how to set up your e-commerce site with Weebly]
Does Weebly Have the Best E-Commerce Tools?
Straight forward answer – no.
There are other resources out there that have far more e-commerce tools than Weebly. But they are not as easy and user friendly as Weebly.
Weebly’s drag and drop tools are just that, drag, drop, create your website.
Don’t let all the bells and whistles that other web builders distract you. At the end of the day, your website is a tool for you to grow your website. It’s important, but not necessarily everything.
Getting distracted from difficult to use builders will hinder you from really growing your business. So selecting a user friendly builder such as Weebly is really something to consider.
Other Tools for your E-Commerce Business
So what other tools can you use to add to your online shop? In our (biased) view, we think that you can consider 2 things to take your business to the next level.
1) External Independent Shopping Carts
Ok, so some of you may need more sophisticated shopping carts for your Weebly website. Admittedly, Weebly’s e-commerce tools are a bit lacking at the time of this article. So there are two other shopping cart providers that works and is compatible with Weebly websites:
1) Ecwid
2) Wazala
Both are very focused shopping carts that can be plugged into your Weebly website, giving you much more powerful tools to grow your business.
We also wrote another article about Weebly e-commerce sites here.
2) Premium Templates
So we’re not going to spend too much time on this bit of self-promotion :) But the general idea is that, if your online shop looks good, people will stick around and see what you have to offer.
How many times have you gone on a website, didn’t like how it looks, thought it was “scammy”, and left? We’ve done that many times.
Having a good looking website design gives you credibility. Check out some of our premium templates here.

I think you might want to correct this phase in your article: “Sure, there are a lot of other website builders out there that can also create e-commerce sites, but the majority of them are as easy to use as Weebly.” Didn’t you mean to say, “are NOT as easy to use as Weebly” ? :)
I am so happy I found Weebly!!! I set up my online antique store with Weebly and it was so user friendly, I couldn’t believe it – especially compared with the other sites I attempted, that had me tearing my hair out trying to format the store element. And I adore the template I found – this is for real (not advertisement)!
Hey Jaedra,
Thanks for pointing that out! yes that’s what we meant :) I’ve just updated the post. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a comment!

I have been searching for the pricing structure from Weebly for users opening e-commerce sites? I have not found where your pricing structure is and before setting up a shop and leaving Etsy, would you kindly advise where I can find this information or tell me what it costs per month to have a shop site on Weebly or how your pricing structure works.
Thanking you in advance for your efforts and advice consideration on my behalf.
