How to Install New External Fonts in Weebly

by - Categories: Uncategorized

As mentioned in last week’s email, today I’m going to show you how to import an external font style into your Weebly website.  We’ll be importing Google Fonts.

Even though Weebly provides a list of font styles for you to choose from, it could be limiting especially if you have a very specific type of font that you would like to use for your website.

Sometimes, the little details such as the font style is what makes the website your own and make it stand out.

You might think that it involves a whole lot of coding changes to make this happen, but it doesn’t. I’m going to show you how to copy and paste a couple of snippets of codes into your Weebly Editor and you’ll be ready to rock out with your new fonts!

Differentiating your website is a key to standing out. Hopefully this tutorial will help your website stand out a bit more :)

Next Weebly Tutorial Lesson:

Did you notice that if you are using Weebly’s YouTube element, at the end of your video YouTube will show a lot of suggested videos that isn’t related to your website? That’s pretty distracting and annoying to be honest.

In about 3 days, I will be showing you how to remove the these “Suggested Videos” at the end of your YouTube videos – so your visitors won’t end up watching silly cat videos for hours….

PS:  Want to get more visitors to your website?  One of the tactics is to get a better design.  If people love your website (which design is a big part of retaining visitors), they will come back more often and tell their friends about it.  Don’t under estimate this powerful strategy as gradually, your site visitors will start to increase.

How to get a better design?  Consider using one of our premium templates and add-on’s.  Installing the new template is just a click away.  Click here to see some of our designs.

    thank you very much, that was really helpful
    and i wanted to know if it was possible to add Arabic fonts the same way, so any help for that?
    (i tried some google fonts early access but no changes in the normal -and unique- Arabic font)

    thanks again.

  3. Hi Azou,

    I’m actually not sure as we haven’t tested Arabic fonts before. Have you tried asking Weebly’s support team to see if they may have any available?

    Hi there. Thanks for this tutorial.
    Is it possible to import fonts that are not Google fonts? I am trying to import a font I have on my computer (ttf) files and don’t now how to do this. Thanks!

    • Hi Maria – we’re not entirely sure as we haven’t experimented that yet. But I’m sure there should be a way to do this. Have you tried asking Weebly’s support team to see if they have any guidance?

    Hi Jeremy,
    Today I was trying to add a new font style to my site, but I’m kind of stuck. You can see the website I’m doing this for: http://www.colegiogarside.com
    You’ll see a block with an embeded presentation if you scroll down to about the middle of the homepage, and to the right side a note. I did this by modifying the quote style and adding it in as such, but then I get this gray line to the left side of it. I tried :
    blockquote {
    border-left: none;}
    But it won’t come off, it looks like it’s rewriting the css. Can you suggest any solution to this kind of problem? Or how do you usually add a new text style?
    Thanks for all your tutorials! Love them all! Never miss one!

    Thanks so much guys!!! my question is – how do you integrate chinese fonts, specially fonts that i have downloaded and installed onto my computer? Google fonts doesn’t have a good range of chinese fonts but there hundreds of really great fonts on other websites that you can download for free. However, it installs these file directly onto my computer usually in ttf file. SentyChalkorginal.ttf. how do i add these fonts to weebly?

    Thanks for your useful tips on embedding fonts into weebly.
    I try to embed three fonts where only one comes from Google Fonts the other two I found at http://www.fontpalace.com. But downloading the fonts there I obtain a HTML file.
    Q: How must I make use of this? One of the fonts I downloaded was “John Handy Let Plain”
    Your advice is much appreciated – thanks

      Hi Eddie,

      We don’t have any tutorials on how to make non-Google fonts work with Weebly websites. But I think it might work but you’ll need to somehow integrate the HTML file into the codes. Check out freelancer market places like Elance or oDesk, or even Fiverr to see if you can find someone who can do this for you quickly. Good luck with that!

        Hi Jeremy, many thanks for this useful reply. Will check those place out. Let me see what I come up with.
        BTW, Would you know any other Fonts location that provides the same Embed Links as Google Fonts does but would have other fonts as well?
        Thanks again and a Happy New Year to you all.
